One Shot Film.......The Meeting
Published by Lilo under on 13:31Once I uploaded the film I wanted a dreamy effect to the start of the clip so I applied a blur filter and blended it to the first part of the scene where the assassin is receiving his orders, as soon as he leaves I faded it out then removed the dreamy filter but then darkened the shot and upped the contrast to portray a shady exchange between the original client and the person really pulling the strings.
The unfortunate thing is the sound didn’t come out very well at all and background noises and wind are evident throughout the shot but nonetheless here is the clip!!
Stop Motion Pixilation Video
Published by Lilo under pixilation on 20:59After uploading I added a blueish tint because I felt black and white is too bland and sepia is too common and would provide a rustic feel when my aim was for a spooky feel hence the soundtrack. Hopefully i'll be able to get round to making a new one with dimensions and new angles but we'll see...
Anyway here it is!!!!
Shout out to Mr SnoWman a local producer from the area for the soundtrack.
The Rule Of Thirds

Film Making Lecture: Lighting......
Published by Lilo under on 21:42It was pretty cool actually, it did touch on how lighting is used effectively in camera work and also showed the effort and prep work that goes on behind the camera. Hopefully we'll be able to take some of what we've learned and apply it to the fixed point single shot production we'll be undertaking. I've posted a few pics of the layout and a video in lecture just to show how it went down....

I'll update with a video of the scene once i find out the best way to host vids...
The Cost & Appeal of Design.....
Published by Lilo under Nokia N95 8GB on 17:41For some people image is everything and when looking to purchase something the urge to have something more appealing than the next person can totally sway normal rational decision making. Perfect examples of this are Nokia 8 series phones e.g. 8800 and apple products e.g. iPod both are examples of ways in which consumers want to either fit in with trends or be one step ahead. Now being a self confessed victim of both examples when I bought my most recent mobile phone i did intend on getting a fashion phone which at least meets the basic essentials but in the end i couldn't so hit i it down the middle with a blend of function and a certain degree of style and opted for this..
Nokia N95 8GB
Dubbed the Swiss army knife of phones, it has just about every feature capable on a high end phone but the sleek black exterior and larger screen works enough to appeal as a phone with a nice design. the decision to buy this is a perfect example of having extra finances being a trigger for spending more than is necessary. The trend seems to be if the consumer has that little bit extra they will spend it just because it’s more appealing, or it’s the “latest” in the range. With this in mind its understandable why product designers will put a lot more effort into the way an object looks from the shoes on your feet to TV at home design is playing a larger part because in effect consumers are using them more and more as symbols of taste and status.
High Definition
Published by Lilo under 1080p, HD, High Definition on 01:23High Definition is defined briefly as an increase in display or visual resolution but in today’s technology it’s a common acronym applied to the latest forms of media and the mediums to access them. The most common medium is the HD TV which is beginning to replace the common SD TV and in recent reports for the first time since its introduction to mass markets HD has been predicted to outsell SD which is a sign of advancement in technology.
High definition content has been helped along by the introduction of easier to access and more affordable mediums ranging from Blu-ray Players/HD DVD players which play movies in high definition due to its high disc storage capacity and its creation to the current generation of games console which offer not only HD DVD and Blu-ray players but allow users to experience games in higher definition when paired with the necessary equipment and with the advancements in game design it allows users to feel closer than ever to the action they’re controlling.
Issues & Implementation of HD
Although HD is on the rise and through the help of sources such as the internet is becoming widespread it still has quite some way to go till SD is completely obsolete, the main obstacles are
Cost
General consumers are still not warming to the idea of spending somewhere in the region of £500+ on a new TV just because it gives a clearer picture then another £150+ for a player just to watch movies on in order to get the most out of the investment. Also creating HD content is more time consuming and more costly then current formats.
HD & True HD
The term HD is used loosely as there are many different levels of HD which are determined by resolution and to the untrained eye the only “True HD” Experience is when a picture is displayed at a resolution of 1080p (the p is for pixels) everything else is a watered down version and in order to achieve 1080p you need a capable player a medium to display it on and capable cable of transmitting the frequency which is still costly business this alone paired with different displays offering different resolution can leave consumers in a spin and in effect make the decision for them to leave it to a later time.
So to in order to prompt implementation the announcement of plans such as the Digital Switchover have been used to urge consumers into stepping towards HD, this is spurred by more recent HDTV’s having Freeview built in also more recently the price of HDTV’s has dropped drastically to make it more affordable. Service providers have began offering HD services in order to tempt consumers into making the switch and in order to make it worthwhile again a HDTV is necessary.
The Future of HD….
It’s certain that HD is where we’re all heading and as mediums are more accessible and businesses make content more accessible at an affordable price the future looks bright, in regards to the format itself, the shelf life of it seem pretty secure as it’s still in its infancy and the future promises more ways of interacting with the media itself in order to create a richer experience only dreamed of decades ago.
Change...
Published by Lilo under on 22:33In tune with a lecture earlier today the lecturer asked us to discuss why "change is an oppurtunity" n it kinda got me thinkin so, i'm sharin this in the hope of enlightenin some of you lol
Are you willing to change?
Your life right now is the result of the things you have done up until this point in time. If you want your life to be different, you will need to make changes. Wishing for a better life won't make it so. In order for "things" to change, you must be willing to change. That means getting out of your comfort zone. It means facing your fears.
You are remarkably adaptable. If you've made it this far, you have already gone through many major changes in all aspects of your life. From being an infant to a toddler to a child to a teen to an adult, the first few years of your life were filled with constant change. You are certainly up to the task.
Almost always, the fear of change, the fear of the unknown, is worse than the change itself. Once you understand this, then you realize that it is easier to change than to resist change.
There are things you need to do, changes you need to make. Go ahead with them. Don't waste your energy fearing them or resisting them. Dive right in and do what needs to be done. Change is a constant part of life. When you fear it, it will happen anyway, out of your control. When you embrace change, it will enable you to reach your goals.
I found it on a forum blog on a gym site i visit check out the log here The ChillOut Log
So it begins.....
Published by Lilo under on 19:41So i've finally got round to setting up a blog page as when the tutorial was going on i was "away" lol
Seeing as the basic designs didn't quite do it for me and after not being happy with the limited modifications available to templates i took a trip to Blogger Templates to sexify my page a bit and this one caught my attention.
The template is called "Sunrays" by Themelib, i'm a fan of the light and dark concepts and as sunlight is an aspect of this i chose it to grace my page.........at least til i'm able to competantly write my own HTML template lol
So there you have it, first ever blog page complete with my first comment, the plan is to update it regularly so stay tuned.....
P.S Shouts to Themelib for the design
