One Shot Film.......The Meeting
Published by Lilo under on 13:31
This is our group one shot video of “The Meeting” we were given the task of shooting a film based on some sort of meeting where there is one take and the camera will only pan once. We opted to go for a meeting portraying a retired assassin being dragged in for one final hit. After a bit of location spotting we came across an open space at the arboretum in Nottingham which had a clock tower in the background which would aid to setting the mood. One of the things we agreed about the shot is that we shouldn’t be able to see the faces of the actors to add an element of mystery.
Once I uploaded the film I wanted a dreamy effect to the start of the clip so I applied a blur filter and blended it to the first part of the scene where the assassin is receiving his orders, as soon as he leaves I faded it out then removed the dreamy filter but then darkened the shot and upped the contrast to portray a shady exchange between the original client and the person really pulling the strings.
The unfortunate thing is the sound didn’t come out very well at all and background noises and wind are evident throughout the shot but nonetheless here is the clip!!

Stop Motion Pixilation Video
Published by Lilo under pixilation on 20:59
This is my first attempt at a stop motion pixilation video; it was a simple concept and was shot in a common room at uni. The main issue we had at the time was we were unsure whether you could move from the spot we were…….which we later found out we could!!!
After uploading I added a blueish tint because I felt black and white is too bland and sepia is too common and would provide a rustic feel when my aim was for a spooky feel hence the soundtrack. Hopefully i'll be able to get round to making a new one with dimensions and new angles but we'll see...
Anyway here it is!!!!
Shout out to Mr SnoWman a local producer from the area for the soundtrack.

The Rule Of Thirds
Published by Lilo under on 13:23
The rule of thirds is based on dividing a photo into nine equal parts divided by 2 horizontal and to vertical lines. It’s one of the most known rules of photo composition, and the aim behind it is to shoot the most important parts of the picture where the lines intersect therefore creating a more balanced and visually pleasing photo.
Below I have 2 examples of the rule, the first is a specifically taken picture to show a perfect example and the second is an attempt by myself.
